The leaders of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan have taken strategic cooperation to a new level

On March 26, the first meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council was held in Tashkent with the participation of Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Emomali Rahmon. The issues of expanding bilateral cooperation, increasing trade volumes and implementing new joint projects were discussed.

The parties agreed to increase trade turnover to $2 billion by 2030, strengthen cooperation in industrial cooperation, transport links, energy and water resources. At the end of the meeting, a joint statement on expanding strategic partnership and a number of important documents were signed. Also, 10 major joint projects were launched. As part of the visit, a new building of the Tajik embassy was opened and a concert program was held with the participation of artists from the two countries.
