In Denmark, in the last week, a Koran book was burned in front of the second Iraqi embassy by the ultranationalist group "Danish Patriots". Earlier, on July 20, activists of the movement burned the Koran book and found an Iraqi flag in front of the embassy. The Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the burning of the Koran and stated that the kingdom is currently discussing this incident. Also, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the country noted that according to local laws, the burning of religious books is not considered a crime. The act of burning the Koran caused mass protests in Islamic countries. Thousands of people took to the streets in Yemen's capital Sana'a on Monday to protest. Deutsche Welle reports that on July 20, after the burning of the Koran, about a thousand Muslims demonstrated in front of the Danish embassy in Baghdad. In Basra, protesters set fire to the building of the Danish humanitarian mission for refugees. Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid called on international organizations and leaders of Western countries to "stop provocations and incitement of hatred". It should be noted that Muslim protesters attacked the Swedish embassy in Baghdad and set it on fire after a similar action in the capital of Sweden.
