Forum participants will exchange experience in the development of tourism in different countries, determine the direction of interaction within the Commonwealth
The International Tourism Forum of the countries - members of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) has started its work in the capital of Tajikistan.
The event is called "A new stage of cooperation between the CIS member states in the field of tourism."
It will last two days, the press service of the executive committee of the organization reports.
The forum brought together the heads of tourism administrations, business circles and CIS tourism industry experts.
At the meeting, they will be able to exchange experience in the development of tourism in different countries, determine the direction of interaction within the CIS, and discuss the creation of joint tourist routes.
It is assumed that the participants will develop a roadmap for the development of tourism clusters in the CIS.
The program also includes the exhibition "Dushanbe-2023". The forum participants will be told what opportunities Tajikistan can offer in the field of medical, environmental, cultural, and mountain tourism.
Earlier it was reported that the income of the tourism sector of Tajikistan in 2022 amounted to more than $250 million.

The number of foreign tourists increased by 34% in 6 months of 2023 compared to the same period last year - in just six months, 628 thousand people visited Tajikistan.
It is worth emphasizing that more than 453 thousand guests arrived from the CIS countries.
