An investigation into the death of Darya Shipilova, a 28-year-old employee of an anti-plague institute in Russia's Irkutsk region, has concluded. Regional Governor Igor Kobzev announced that she died from community-acquired pneumonia.
It was reported that the woman had been vaccinated and possessed immunity against the dangerous infections she worked with, and no emergency incidents involving pathogenic microorganisms were identified at the institute. Medical monitoring of individuals who had been in contact with the deceased has ended, and no signs of the disease were detected in them. Rospotrebnadzor also stated that the epidemiological situation in the region remains stable.

It is worth noting that following Shipilova's death, nearly 200 people were placed in isolation, and quarantine measures were implemented in certain hospitals. However, reports claiming she had died of the plague were not confirmed.
