The inscription on the "Mourning Mother" monument: sharp responses to Lavrov

The Uzbek public reacted sharply to the statements of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov about the lack of a Russian inscription on the "Mourning Mother" monument in Samarkand. Journalists, bloggers and deputies, in particular Sherzodkhon Qudratxo'ja, Alisher Qodirov, lawyer Khushnudbek Khudoyberdiev and deputy of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis Odiljon Tojiyev  responded to the Russian Foreign Minister.
They assessed Lavrov's statement as interference in the internal affairs of Uzbekistan and emphasized that Uzbekistan is not a colony of Russia. They also demanded to draw attention to the violation of the rights of Uzbek migrants in Russia.

❗️ It should be recalled that during his two-day official visit to Samarkand, the Russian Foreign Minister laid flowers at the foot of the "Mourning Mother" monument and criticized the fact that the inscription under the monument was only in English.
