The incidence of coronavirus in Russia for the week from August 21 to 27 increased by 19.6% compared to the previous week, according to the operational headquarters for the fight against coronavirus infection.

"The incidence rate of a new coronavirus infection over the past week per 100,000 population was 2.82 and increased by 19.6% compared to the previous week. An increase in the incidence was noted in 46 subjects of the Russian Federation, including in 18 regions - more than the national average," the operational headquarters said.

According to the information, 11 people have died over the past week.

In the period from August 14 to August 20, an increase in the incidence of 16.1% was reported, 34 deaths were registered.

From August 21 to 27, 3,104 people recovered, or 12.1% more compared to the previous week.

The number of hospitalizations for the week amounted to 1,035 and increased by 3.3% compared to the previous week.
