The implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals was discussed at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan

Officials of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry, ministries and departments of the country, together with representatives of the UN structural units in Ashgabat, reviewed the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals in Turkmenistan.
Minister of Economy and Finance Serdar Joraev, opening the round table meeting of the National Working Group on the implementation of the SDGs in the country, noted the high dynamics of the strategic partnership between Turkmenistan and the UN, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reports.
Deputy Foreign Minister Myahri Byashimova drew the attention of the audience to the participation of the youth of Turkmenistan in the domestic and foreign policy of the country, as evidenced by the involvement of SDG ambassadors in the work of the Political Forum. The significance of the event "Sustainable Urban Transport: Preparations for the UN General Assembly High-Level Meeting on Sustainable Transport and the model of the city of Arkadag for the implementation of SDG 11" was emphasized.
The UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan Dmitry Shlapachenko spoke about the plans to hold the SDG Summit in September and the preparation of national commitments and tools for their development for the upcoming Summit.
Also during the meeting, information was announced on the progress in putting the SDG national database into operation.
