A resident of the village of Selektsionnoye, Sokuluk district of Kyrgyzstan broke into his ex-wife's apartment, beat her and cut off her nose and ears with a knife. This was reported by the local mass media.

It is noted that the woman lived with her husband for 10 years, they have two children aged 15 and 10. Due to regular beatings and bullying, she left her husband 5 years ago. In 2022, the couple officially divorced.

Despite the breakup of the marriage, the ex-husband did not "leave" the woman alone. "He regularly came to her work, quarreled, beat and raped her," said the victim's cousin.

The victim's sister informed that "three days before this incident, the woman contacted the police, but the local police officer did not respond to her words about the impending danger carelessly. "Three days after the interview with the district police officer, he appeared at the threshold of the house where the ex-husband lives with his children."

When the woman was leaving the apartment to take her youngest child to school, her husband pushed her into the house, went inside and closed the door. He beat his ex-wife, then took a knife. He cut off his ex-wife's nose and ears. Not content with that, he tortured her until dawn.

"Ears, earlobes - everything was torn off, he did it with a special knife. It was a very delicate operation. The nose was completely cut off. The doctors sewed the severed parts back together, but we don't know if all this will take root or not," said the victim. sister

It is noted that during the incident, the couple's ten-year-old child was in the room where his father was abusing his mother. The boy hid under the blanket and heard everything.

The victim is now in hospital. Doctors assess his condition as stable and serious. According to the sister, the woman underwent surgery, but it is not yet clear whether she will be able to fully recover.

"The operation lasted 9 hours, the doctors worked very carefully to put everything together. There are still a few surgeries to come and we need a lot of money, so I've launched a fundraiser to help my sister. It is not yet known whether he will hear or not. Now she doesn't even speak, said the woman's relative.

The victim's sister stated that they had complained to the police several times about her son-in-law.

"These are family issues, we are powerless before the law," said the district police officer.

After this sensational event, the press service of the Kyrgyz Ministry of Internal Affairs announced that the police are "paying great attention to the prevention of cases of domestic violence."

"Special attention is paid to the crime that happened in Seleksionnoye village. The Minister of Internal Affairs, Lieutenant General of the Police Ulan Niyozbekov personally supervised the incident to ensure an impartial and comprehensive investigation. In addition, the legality of the actions of the employees of the internal affairs bodies will be additionally checked by the internal investigation service," the department added.

The criminal case against the ex-husband of a Kyrgyz woman was classified under the article "Harm to health". The maximum he's currently facing is 12 years in prison, but it's not clear the man will even get that sentence.
