ASTANA, August 22 - Sputnik. Finance Minister Yerulan Zhamaubaev commented on the accumulation of trucks on the border with Kyrgyzstan.

"There is no customs there, this is the internal border of the EAEU. As far as I know, there was an operation to seize narcotic drugs, so now a thorough check is underway, most likely by the Border Guard Service and the KNB," the minister told reporters on the sidelines of a government meeting.

He added that "by no means were there any regulations regarding commercial cargo."

Yesterday, a traffic jam of 370 cars formed in front of the Ak-Tilek checkpoint from the Kyrgyz side, Sputnik Kyrgyzstan reports. In 10 hours only three trucks passed.

Kyrgyz media suggested that one of the reasons for the situation is allegedly that Kyrgyzstan does not supply water to Kazakhstan.

Recall that water stopped being supplied in August along the Talas River from a neighboring country due to low water, and also after Kazakhstan chose its limit.
