Although the cotton harvest season has already begun, at the moment only 16 out of 58 cotton processing enterprises in the region are ready to work.

In Khatlon, the state budget did not receive more than 5% of cotton taxes.

So, in 2022, 158 small and large enterprises of the region collected and processed 262.4 thousand tons of cotton.

This was announced by the chairman of the Khatlon region Davlatali Said.

According to him, only 64.5 million somoni, or 94.8% of taxes, was directed to the budget.

Whereas the potential amount of taxation only for small cotton processing enterprises should have been 69 million somoni.

The head of the region also expressed concern that although the cotton harvest season has already begun, at the moment only 16 out of 58 cotton ginning enterprises in the region are ready for work, and repair work is underway at 36.

"Farmers of the district have planted various varieties of cotton on an area of 123.2 thousand hectares. Thanks to the efforts of farmers, a good harvest is expected," Davlatali Said said.
