The First Contemporary Art Biennale in Bukhara

Since September 5, the Old City of Bukhara has been hosting its first-ever contemporary art biennale titled “Healing the Pain of Hearts.”
The theme — “Healing the Pain of Hearts” — promotes the idea of restoring mental well-being and health through art, craftsmanship, and gastronomy.

The concept is inspired by a legend about the renowned scholar and physician Ibn Sina. According to the story, he cured a young prince whose heart was broken and who fell into deep sorrow and illness by preparing a special dish — plov (pilaf).

This story became a symbol of “healing for the soul and body,” and it defines the core idea of the biennale — healing through art and spiritual renewal through culture.
