The draft law on the procedure for conducting undercover operations in Uzbekistan was approved

At the meeting of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, the draft law "On making additions and amendments to certain legal documents of the Republic of Uzbekistan aimed at improving the legal basis of activities in the fight against crime" was considered in the second reading.

With the proposed draft law, the law "On Rapid Search Activity" specifies the procedure for conducting rapid search activities such as data collection, rapid entry, masked operation, as well as the legal basis for fighting crime in the field of information technologies. additions and changes are being introduced, which provide for strengthening, establishing that rapid search activities can be carried out using information and communication technologies, including in cyberspace and (or) using its capabilities.

Deputies say that the adoption of this draft law will help to maintain public order and more reliably ensure the safety of citizens, as well as increase the effectiveness of measures to prevent offenses and fight against crime.

"After intense debates, questions and answers, and long debates, the draft law was adopted by the deputies," the report said.

Let's remind that in 2019, the law signed by the president was supplemented with the law "On emergency search activities". With the amendment, the military intelligence of the Ministry of Defense was given the right to carry out operational search activities on the territory of Uzbekistan. Other state bodies, as well as legal and natural persons, are prohibited from conducting search operations.
