In March of this year, a 61-year-old man named Riza Beler brutally killed a 40-year-old citizen of Uzbekistan, Umida Tolaganova, who lived with him in the Bahchelievler district of Istanbul. The court sentenced the man to life imprisonment. This was reported by local publications of Turkey. Between the defendant Riza Beler and the deceased Umida Tolaganova, quarrels broke out from time to time. Before the incident, Beler had an argument with the deceased because he had let another man into the house. Beler made a plan to kill Tolaganova and killed him by hitting him on the head with a bruschatka stone. Then, the man cut off Tolaganova's hands at the joints and put them in the refrigerator. At the hearing, the prosecutor asked for an aggravated life sentence for Beler. In his last words, the defendant expressed his deep regret for the incident and asked for an apology. The court sentenced Riza Beler to aggravated life imprisonment on the charge of "premeditated and deliberate killing of a woman". A defendant's sentence is prohibited from being reduced for reasons such as good behavior.
