ALMATY, August 21 - Sputnik. In large cities of Kazakhstan, an increase in prices for rental housing was recorded in annual dynamics.

The largest increase was noted by analysts in Almaty, Petropavlovsk and Kokshetau.

According to the results of July, the rent of comfortable housing in Kazakhstan has risen in price by 1.9% over the month and by 28.6% over the year, Energyprom.kz reports.

"For comparison, the increase in prices for goods and services in the country in July amounted to 0.6% m/m and 14% per year, and real wage growth in the second quarter of 2023 - 4.7% per quarter and only 1.2% compared to the same quarter of the previous year. That is, the cost of rent is growing faster than the wages of citizens and inflation," the study notes.

The average cost of renting a square meter of housing in the country amounted to 4.7 thousand tenge, against 3.6 thousand tenge a year earlier.

More pleasant rental prices were observed in such cities, such as Taraz (1.9 thousand tenge per meter), Kyzylorda (2.1 thousand tenge) and Turkestan (2.2 thousand tenge)," the published information specifies.

At the same time, according to analysts, the upward trend in the cost of rental housing will not change in the near future.

Bangladesh, Pakistan and Nepal have the lowest prices for renting such an apartment in the world, while Singapore has the highest prices.
