The Consul General of Turkmenistan visited Saratov University

Consul General of Turkmenistan Guych Garayev visited within the framework of the II All-Russian Games “Smart City. Live by sport” Saratov University, where he met with the presidium and students of the university, reports the press service of the Saratov State University.

During a conversation with the rector of the university A.N. Chumachenko, vice-rector for international affairs D.N. Konakov and vice-rector for academic affairs I.G. Melinsky, the Turkmen diplomat discussed the conditions of stay of students from Turkmenistan at SSU, the number of which this year reached 1381.

“Students from Turkmenistan make up the main backbone of foreign students at our university. We try to create for them the most comfortable conditions for the educational process and living. The process of integration of Turkmen students into the Russian youth environment, participation in university and city events is also important,” noted the head of SSU.

Vice-Rector D.N. Konakov reported on measures for the sociocultural adaptation of Turkmen students in Russia: various excursions, trainings, sports and cultural events are held, including “Miss Novruz”, “Student Spring”, “University Snowflake”.

“Saratov is a multicultural city, many national holidays have become common for all nationalities living here. Every year, the region hosts more than fifty different events aimed at developing ethnocultural diversity, preserving traditions and strengthening interethnic ties,” added Rector Chumachenko.

Special attention was paid to the issues of feedback, which plays an important role in assessing the professional skills developed by students at SSU, as well as the conditions in which citizens of Turkmenistan study and their employment prospects.
