The heads of government of the Commonwealth of Independent States, during the next summit, agreed on the need for the early entry into force of the Agreement on Free Trade in Services, and also signed a number of documents aimed at developing cooperation between the countries. Among them are agreements on strengthening cooperation in the field of geodesy, cartography, geographic information technologies, the mining and metallurgical industry and the IT sector.
“At the October Summit of CIS Heads of State, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that it is necessary to pay special attention to eliminating trade barriers, creating favorable tariff conditions and simplifying administrative procedures. In this context, the early entry into force of the Free Trade Agreement in Services seems important. This document will allow us to take our interaction to a qualitatively new level,” said Kazakh Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov
The Deputy Prime Minister of the Turkmen government, who oversees issues of economic, banking and international financial organizations in the Cabinet of Ministers, took part in the summit, reports the press service of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the development of a multilateral partnership, also affecting cooperation in the transport and logistics sector, and here, as the participants noted, there is tangible progress, especially with regard to the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route and the North-South corridor.
It was noted that economic successes in the interaction of the CIS member states could become the basis for strengthening the cultural and humanitarian potential of cooperation.
