China's largest automobile concern Dongfeng Motor plans to produce electric buses in Fergana. This was reported by the press service of the regional government.
It was reported that the governor of the region Khairullo Bozorov received a delegation of investors consisting of representatives of large Chinese companies such as Dongfeng Motor, Luoyang Grasen Power Technology and Tunghsu Group.
It is planned to produce Dongfeng electric buses by Dongfeng Motor Company, chargers for electric cars by Luoyang Grasen Power Technology Company, and solar panels by Tunghsu Group.
In the first stage of the project, the production of electric buses will be launched on an area of 4 hectares at the expense of direct foreign investment of 45 million dollars, and in 2025 it is planned to implement it at the expense of another 50 million dollars of investment. In the ongoing second phase, the localization of batteries and other components of electric vehicles, as well as the organization of technical service services in the regions, are defined.
Luoyang Grasen Power Technology, China's largest company in the production of charging devices for electric cars, plans to invest $30 million in the project.
The leaders of the Tunghsu Group company want to invest 50 million dollars in the solar panel production project in the region.
It was agreed to develop a Roadmap for the necessary measures to implement the projects. These projects are planned to be implemented in the Furqat district in the current state of negotiations.
According to the report, models of electric buses planned to be produced by Dongfeng Motor were also brought to the region. Mayor Khairullo Bozorov, head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Azizbek Ikramov, officials of the regional transport sector got on electric buses and walked around the city and evaluated their technical characteristics.
