The chairman of the silk committee sued "Kun.uz" publication and journalist, but soon withdrew his claim.

Bahrom Sharipov, chairman of the Committee for the Development of Silk and Wool Industry, sued "Kun.uz" and its journalist Shakir Sharipov, but later asked the court to leave the case unheard.

On June 12, the publication of journalist Shakir Sharipov's "Business network 'woven from silk' of a state official. Has the field been turned into a private garden?" announced an inquiry titled In it, it was said that Bahrom Sharipov, the chairman of the Silk Committee, who until recently also managed "Uzipaksanoat" together with the committee, runs his own business in the silk industry through many companies related to him. In the article, it is noted that the basis of Bahrom Sharipov's business structures are the companies opened in the name of Sayyora Sharipova, who is considered his wife.

"In a meeting with us, the representatives of the committee responsible for silk production and the association informed us that Bahrom Sharipov was actually an entrepreneur and that he was engaged in business activities in the field of silk production even before he became the head of the industry. But the questions raised in the inquiry were not answered," Shakir Sharipov's article says.

After that, the Chairman of the Silk and Wool Industry Development Committee sued "Kun.uz" and its journalist Shakir Sharipov.

According to "Gazeta.uz", he called the information in the "Kun.uz" article baseless in his lawsuit and noted that it damaged his and his family's reputation. He noted that he was not appointed to the positions of the head of the Committee for the Development of Silk and Cattle Breeding and the chairman of the "Uzipaksanoat" association by chance.

Bahrom Sharipov demanded that the defendants announce a rebuttal, publicly apologize, and collect 1 billion soums for moral damages from "Kun.uz" and journalist Shakir Sharipov.

Blogger and lawyer Khushnudbek Khudoiberdiyev announced that on July 14, Bahrom Sharipov withdrew the lawsuit submitted to the court and attached his application to the court.

In it, the Chairman of the Silk Committee Bahrom Sharipov withdrew the lawsuit filed against the "Kun.uz" publication and journalist Shakir Sharipov in connection with the protection of the person's honor, dignity and business reputation and asked the court to leave the case unheard.
