On June 7, the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Zhaparov, as part of a working trip to the city of Sochi (Russian Federation), took part in a meeting of the Intergovernmental Council of Eurasia in narrow format.

The agenda of the meeting included 10 topics, including the further development of free trade, the regulation of the alcohol market within the EAEU, the integrated information system and digital agenda, and the Union's electricity market.

The heads of government heard a report on the implementation of the First Set of Measures for Cooperation between the EAEU Member States (the “Road Map”) as part of the climate agenda.

In addition, after evaluating the initiative of the Russian Federation, the Eurasian Economic Commission was instructed, together with member countries, to resolve the issue of creating a Eurasian rating agency.

The creation of such an organization will increase the level of financial independence of the countries of the Eurasian region, help increase mutual investment, and also remove a number of delicate obstacles in the internal market of the Union.

In addition, the parties discussed in detail the progress in the implementation of previously given instructions and agreements within the framework of the Intergovernmental Council of Eurasia.

It was decided that the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Council of Eurasia will be held in Cholpon-Ata in August 2023.
