Together with the Export-Import Bank of South Korea, the President adopted a decision on measures to implement the project “Providing regional medical institutions with medical equipment”.

To implement the project, Uzbekistan was approved to provide Uzbekistan with a concessional loan in Korean won in the equivalent of $74 million for a period of 40 years from the Economic Development and Cooperation Fund of the Export-Import Bank of Korea with a 10-year grace period.

The total cost of the project is $88.78 million. From this:

$74 million in borrowed funds;
$14.78 million in tax and customs benefits.
The costs associated with the return of borrowed funds, including additional commissions and interest, other payments will be covered by the budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan. At the same time, the funds saved as a result of the use of tax and customs benefits or payments from the budget will be considered as Uzbekistan's contribution to the project.

State Institution "Uzmedimpeks" under the Ministry of Health is the working body of the tender commission and the counterparty under the contracts concluded as part of the project.

It was announced yesterday that the Republic of Korea Emergency Medical Research Center and its regional branches will receive $17 million from the Korea Eximbank Economic Development and Cooperation Fund to equip them with necessary medical equipment.
