The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan summoned the Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan for a conversation in connection with a statement by a high-ranking official regarding the border between the two countries

Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan Erlan Abdildayev was invited to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan.

This was reported by the press service of the Republic's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The call came after the words of a Kyrgyz official about the border of the two countries.

Erlan Abdyldaev was informed that such statements could negatively affect relations between Bishkek and Dushanbe.

“Comments of this kind can cause serious damage to the progress of the negotiation process on the delimitation and demarcation of the Tajik-Kyrgyz border, as well as mutual trust,” the Tajik Foreign Ministry emphasized.

It is worth noting that recently Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan Kamchybek Tashiev called on the Tajik authorities to abandon territorial claims.
