The 5 safest countries in the world have been revealed
According to the 2026 Global Peace Index, Iceland, New Zealand, Switzerland, Slovenia and Ireland have been named the 5 safest countries in the world.
The rating assessed countries based on 23 criteria, including the risk of military conflict, crime rate, social stability and the population's sense of security. Iceland has been the safest country in the world almost continuously since 2008 and retained its first place in 2026.
Uzbekistan also ranked 37th out of 163 countries in the ranking, up 10 places from last year and taking 1st place in Central Asia.
