Terrorist attack in Islamabad: Pakistani Taliban claims responsibility

The Islamabad blast was claimed by a militant group called Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, a splinter group of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), which officials said was not involved in the attack.
At least 12 people were killed and 27 injured in a blast near a courthouse on November 11. The blast was so powerful that several vehicles caught fire and security measures were tightened.
Pakistan's defense minister called the incident a "serious warning" for the country, saying the threat from the ruling forces in Afghanistan was growing and that the military was prepared to respond.

Jamaat-ul-Ahrar is a terrorist organization designated by the United Nations. The group is based in Afghanistan's Nangarhar province and split from the Mohmand branch of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
