Tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan: Airstrikes on Kabul and Kandahar

On the night of February 27, the Pakistani military carried out airstrikes on the cities of Kabul and Kandahar. The BBC reported this, citing a government spokesman.
Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that the country was capable of responding to any aggression. Defense Minister Khawaja Asif said that an open war was underway against the Taliban government.
According to officials, dozens of military facilities were destroyed and more than a hundred militants were killed as a result of the strikes. The Afghan side also claims that operations have been launched against Pakistan, and both sides have suffered losses.

The escalation occurred after the Taliban forces attacked Islamabad on February 26. The sides accuse each other of supporting militants operating from across the border.
