Telegram has restricted access to the official Hamas channel from mobile devices. "TASS" writes that the messenger informed Android users about this.

"Access to some channels to which you are subscribed may be restricted in your version of Telegram in accordance with Google Play rules," the notice says.

Anyone trying to access the HAMAS channel from a mobile device will now see a "Access to this channel is restricted" notification.

Those who try to access the channel from an Apple device are also faced with a similar notification. "RIA Novosti" wrote that the restriction also applies to Apple users.

"TASS" clarified that the channel of the military wing of Hamas "Al-Qassam Brigades" was also blocked. At the same time, the channel of the spokesperson of the movement Izzat al-Rishqa, the channels of Hamas allies "Islamic Jihad" and "Hezbollah" are still working.

The messenger offered Android users who want to keep access to Hamas channels to download the mobile application directly from the Telegram website, not through the Play market. Channels are also working on the web version of the messenger.

Earlier, the founder of Telegram, Pavel Durov, said that the closure of the Hamas channel could worsen the situation with information about the events taking place in the combat zone:

"Before the rocket attacks on Ashkelon, Hamas warned civilians through Telegram that they should leave the area. Will closing this channel help save lives or put them at risk?" Durov wrote.
