In the Jarkurgan district of the Surkhandarya region, a vocational training instructor at a technical college sexually harassed a minor female student. The incident reportedly took place on the college premises on September 25. During a physics lesson, the man obtained permission from the teacher to take the minor student—who was in a group assigned to him—out of the classroom. In the department office, he pulled the girl toward himself and engaged in sexually inappropriate behavior. The student resisted and left the room. Subsequently, the man called the girl again and asked her to come to the sports hall. When the student arrived, the staff member harassed her once more. She managed to escape the room when she received a phone call. Initially, the student did not tell anyone about the incident but later reported it to the college director. In court, the man admitted to taking the girl out of class but denied engaging in sexual misconduct. The court found him guilty of sexual harassment—an offense stipulated in Article 41-1, Part 1 of the Code on Administrative Liability—and sentenced him to five days of administrative detention.
