Teachers Who Abuse Children Banned from Working in Kindergartens for One Year

Teachers who have been held administratively liable for physical or psychological abuse of minors during their professional activity will be prohibited from working in preschool institutions for one year. The relevant law was adopted at the 17th plenary session of the Senate. The law also introduces new provisions into the Administrative Liability Code: discrimination, humiliation, or physical violence against children in educational institutions will now carry separate administrative responsibility. Additionally, the legislation stipulates that parents cannot be exempted from paying alimony if a child is fully supported in a state or non‑state institution. Orphans and children deprived of parental care may only be placed with relatives for upbringing. Senators emphasized that these changes aim to provide stronger protection of children’s rights and interests and to ensure their safety in educational institutions.
