Taylor Swift’s new song joins the soundtrack of Toy Story 5
American pop star Taylor Swift has finally addressed rumors surrounding her involvement in the upcoming animated film Toy Story 5.
Over the past few weeks, fans had been actively discussing whether the singer was connected to the project. Speculation began after a mysterious countdown timer appeared on Swift’s official website using the color palette associated with Toy Story. The timer was removed shortly before it reached zero. Around the same time, Pixar shared a series of images featuring the initials “TS,” which could refer both to Toy Story and Taylor Swift.
One of Pixar’s posts included the caption: “She makes up these moves as she goes along!” Many fans interpreted it as a reference to Swift’s 2014 hit Shake It Off, which contains a similar lyric.
Now, the singer has officially confirmed that her new original song, I Knew It, I Knew You, will be featured on the Toy Story 5 soundtrack album.
“You knew it! My new original song I Knew It, I Knew You is coming to Toy Story 5. I’ve dreamed of writing music for these characters ever since I watched the first film when I was five years old,” Swift wrote on her blog.
The singer also revealed that she was given the opportunity to watch an early version of the movie and instantly fell in love with the story. According to Swift, she went home and wrote the song that very same evening.
Toy Story 5 is set to premiere in theaters worldwide on June 19. This time, Woody, Jessie, and Buzz Lightyear will face an unusual challenge: LilyPad, a tablet that has become the favorite gadget of their eight-year-old owner Bonnie. As the device increasingly captures her attention, the toys struggle to remain an important part of her life.
