Tashkent traffic will be managed through a single center — traffic jams are expected to decrease by up to 40%

Tashkent Mayor Shavkat Umurzakov said that a single center for managing road infrastructure will be created in the capital. The road system, which is currently controlled by various agencies, remains one of the main causes of traffic jams.
According to the mayor, although Tashkent roads are designed for 400 thousand cars, today more than 1 million cars are moving in the city. The new center will develop a master plan for traffic, form convenient routes for public transport and micromobility (bicycles, scooters). The project will be fully digitalized. Each passenger will be able to see which transport will take them to their desired destination and in what time through a mobile application. During repair work, an alternative route will be offered. According to Umurzakov, once the system is fully operational, traffic jams will be reduced by 30–40%, and harmful emissions by 15%.
The center is planned to be launched on a pilot basis in 2025, and expanded nationwide by 2030.
