Tashkent has risen to fifth place in the IQAir ranking, surpassing even Mumbai in the ranking of cities with the most polluted air as of November 7. According to the rating, around 7: 00, the concentration of fine dispersed PM-2.5 particles in the air of Tashkent was 100 micrograms /m3 – an indicator according to the classification “harmful”.
The 1st place in the rating was taken by the Pakistani city of Lahore - the concentration of dispersed PM-2.5 particles is 347 micrograms/m3. The Indian city of Delhi is on the 2nd place - 342 micrograms/ m3. The Indian City of Calcutta closes the top three - 222 micrograms/m3.
In fourth place was the capital of Bangladesh, Dhaka (188 micrograms/m3), in fifth place - the capital of Uzbekistan, Tashkent (174 micrograms/m3). According to the World Health Organization, among the indicators of air pollution, dispersed PM-2.5 particles pose the greatest risk to health.
