Tashiyev questioned in two criminal cases

The former chairman of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan, Kamchibek Tashiyev, was questioned as a witness in two criminal cases at the Ministry of Internal Affairs on March 18. He was accompanied by his lawyer to the investigation, but details of the investigation have not been made public.

Tashiyev was dismissed from his post as chairman of the National Security Committee on February 10. It is not clear when he left the country and when he returned. People close to Tashiyev have called on deputies to hold early presidential elections, some of whom were later prosecuted. The committee is currently headed by Jumgalbek Shabdanbekov.

Tashiyev's brother, Shoirbek Tashiyev, was also summoned to the Ministry of Internal Affairs for questioning on March 13 and later surrendered his deputy mandate.
