Tashiyev charged with attempted coup

Former Chairman of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan Kamchibek Tashiyev is accused of attempting a coup d'état. This was reported by the "24.kg" publication, citing lawyer Sherdor Abdikaparov.

Former deputy Kurmankul Zulusev and former Chairman of the Jogorku Kenesh Nurlanbek Turgunbek oglu were also charged in this case. They were charged with serious articles related to organizing mass unrest and attempting a coup d'état.

According to the investigation, the case is related to the so-called "75 letters", which requested the holding of early presidential elections. Later, criminal cases were initiated around this appeal.

Earlier, Elvira Surabaliyeva, a deputy of the Jokargi Kenesh of Kyrgyzstan, in an interview with Kazakh journalist Nurseit Zhilqishibay, reported that Kamchibek Tashiyev had been removed from office on charges of organizing an attempted coup.
