Taliban threatens women with jail time for violating dress code
In Afghanistan's Herat province, the Taliban have tightened their control over women's dress code. According to local sources, women who do not cover their faces, do not wear headscarves, wear tight clothing or wear makeup can be arrested and placed in a women's prison.
According to the new regulations, male guardians in the family are also responsible for ensuring that women comply with the established rules. Those who do not comply can be handed over to Taliban judicial bodies.
According to information, these measures came into effect on June 6, and additional inspections and checkpoints have been set up in Herat to control women's dress code.
