In Afghanistan, Taliban leader Haibatullah Akhundzada has ordered a ban on the use of smartphones by civil servants. According to the decree, violators of the ban will be held accountable before a military court, but the exact types of punishment have not yet been disclosed.
The supervision will be carried out by military court employees. At the same time, it was announced which positions and regions will be covered, as well as a list of communication operators and numbers.
In recent days, the use of smartphones was also banned in schools and madrasas in Afghanistan. The Minister of Higher Education called smartphones "one of the three main enemies of Muslims."
