Using special equipment that has already been purchased by the Ministry of Transport, measurements and assessment of the quality of highways and their exact length will be carried out.
Tajikistan intends to carry out electronic registration of highways.
This was reported by the press service of the Republic's Ministry of Transport.
Equipment for data collection and recording of road assets has been provided for this purpose.
The Asian Development Bank provided support for financing the project.
The instruments necessary for the work were purchased and installed on a Toyota Prado passenger car.
The equipment consists of a laser scanner, 3 cameras, odometer and GPS.
With their help, it is planned to measure and assess the roughness of the road, the IRI index (International Classification of Pavement Roughness), determine the exact length of highways and the location of road structures.
Also, after completely collecting data on public highways, specialists will create an electronic form of highway maps.

Further, based on the data of the corresponding passport of each highway, the necessary measures for the quality maintenance, reconstruction and construction of roads will be determined.
