The first consultation meeting of the high-level working group on the Tajikistan-Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Iran-Turkey transport corridor was held in Dushanbe. This was reported by the Ministry of Transport.
It is noted that experts from the Center for the Study of Problems of Transport and Logistics Development participated in the meeting of the working group held under the leadership of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO).
According to the Ankara Declaration adopted at the 11th meeting of transport ministers of OIC member states, it was agreed to develop a project program for the development of the multimodal transport corridor Tajikistan-Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Iran-Turkey.
The meeting discussed the issues of increasing cargo transportation and simplifying trade procedures, in particular, the development and promotion of international transit for landlocked countries.
In June 2023, Zhejiang Union of Railway Logistics Company, Uzbekistan Railways JSC and Kyrgyz Railway National Company State Enterprise in cooperation with the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan multimodal transport corridor. train movement was started.
In the same month, a container train was launched from China's Xiamen port to Uzbekistan via Iran. Cargo containers are brought from China by sea to Bander-Abbas port and loaded on railway platforms in Iran's Bander-Abbas port and enter Uzbekistan through Turkmenistan.
