Prohibited psychotropic substances are most often imported into Russia from Tajikistan.

This was reported in the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation.

It is noted that such a result was demonstrated by the statistics of detentions for 7 months of 2023.

So, in addition to Tajikistan, the anti-rating included such EU countries as Estonia, the Czech Republic, Finland, Spain, as well as India and China.

The most popular "imported" drugs are: hashish, cocaine and mephedrone.

"According to these facts, more than 10.5 tons of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, their precursors, as well as potent substances were seized from illegal circulation," the FCS of Russia stated.

The department also added that from January to July 2023, customs officers opened 105 criminal cases under the article on drug smuggling on the facts of illegal import of drugs.

At the same time, 112 criminal cases were initiated under another article - on the smuggling of potent substances.

A citizen of Tajikistan who was wanted for 11 years was detained in Moscow

Earlier, the largest crimes related to illicit substances in 2023 were solved in Tajikistan. The largest was the detention of a Tajik citizen with more than 100 kg of illegal drugs.

In addition, in April 2023, a citizen of Tajikistan was also detained for large-scale drug smuggling. It is noted that he was in collusion with the Afghani and together they decided to transport 50 kg of prohibited substances across the border.

Recall that the number of confiscated narcotic substances has increased in Tajikistan.

According to the agency, in the first half of 2023, the agency’s security forces seized 366 kg of narcotic substances. This figure is 115 kg or 45% more than in the same period last year.
