The official delegation of Tajikistan was sent to Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk and Ufa to study the living conditions of migrant workers in Russia. This was reported by the Ministry of Labor, Migration and Employment of Tajikistan.
"On behalf of the government of Tajikistan, working groups were formed to get to know the living conditions of labor migrants in Russia and to conduct outreach among them. Five groups were formed and they were sent to Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Ufa and Novosibirsk," said the message of the Ministry of Labor of Tajikistan on Facebook.
According to the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, the number of citizens of Tajikistan who received Russian passports increased by 60% in 2022. According to the statistics of the Federal Security Service, 516,000 citizens of Tajikistan entered Russia in the first quarter of 2023, and 548,000 in the second quarter.
At the beginning of June, it was reported that Tajik and Kyrgyz migrants had a mass fight at the Lakhta-Sentr construction site in St. Petersburg. It is noted that the workers fought for free food.
