With the opening of land borders, trade between Tajikistan and China will expand, and settlements will be made in Chinese currency.
Firdavs Talibzoda, Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of the Republic, told Sputnik Tajikistan about this during a press conference.
"Negotiations are being actively held between businessmen to switch to settlements in yuan," Talibzoda added.
Earlier, the head of the statistics and balance of payments department of the National Bank of the Republic, Bakhtiyor Bakhriddinov, said that Tajikistan conducts half of its foreign trade in rubles.

According to his data, for 6 months of 2023, 47% of foreign trade turnover was paid in Russian rubles.
According to him, the share of somoni in international transactions is 4%.
