The ECO cooperation strategy in the energy sector until 2030 assumes a growing demand for electricity, the Tajik leader recalled

The Economic Cooperation Organization needs to increase the use of renewable energy sources.

This was stated by the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon at the summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) countries in Tashkent.

“The implementation of projects for the construction of interstate power lines, including the CASA-1000 project, can significantly increase the energy potential of the UES,” the Tajik leader believes.

According to him, the republic seeks to use its hydropower potential in accordance with the current concept of “green” energy.
