Tajikistan seeks to enter the market of halal products primarily for the production of safe goods, said the deputy chairman of Tajikstandart

Tajikistan is making every effort to enter the market of halal products.

Such plans were shared during a press conference by the Deputy Chairman of "Tajikstandart" Davlatshoh Mirzoyon.

According to him, this international market has more than 4.5 billion consumers.

So, in January 2023, Tajikistan joined the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in the field of standardization.

"Tajikistan has every opportunity to recommend the republic's products in this market, as well as to license factories according to approved standards," the minister stressed.

However, the deputy chairman of the organization said that the requirements for halal products are extremely strict.

"Starting from salt, all materials used in the product, each of them must be certified according to the standard," said Davlatshoh Mirzoyon.

According to the representative of Tajikstandart, the issue of standardized production is primarily for the use of safe products.

The official added that the halal standard is used in all types of products and even in perfumery.
