Head of the Department of Statistics and Balance of Payments of the National Bank of Tajikistan published statistical data on trade turnover for six months of 2023

Tajikistan conducts half of its foreign trade in rubles.

Bakhtiyor Bakhriddinov, head of the Department of Statistics and Balance of Payments of the National Bank of the Republic, stated this at a press conference.

He also noted the growth of trade in Tajikistan in the national currency.

"For 6 months of 2023, 47% of the foreign trade turnover was paid in Russian rubles," Bakhtiyor Bakhriddinov stated.

According to the information provided by him, the share of somoni is 4%.

Earlier, Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan Ashurboy Solehzoda said that Russia remains the main trading partner of the republic. For 6 months of 2023, the trade turnover between the two states is 24.8%.

The total foreign trade turnover of Tajikistan for 6 months amounted to 3.4 billion dollars, compared to the same period last year, having decreased by 2.8%, or 98.2 million dollars.

The EAEU countries are the main trading partners of Tajikistan

Recall that Tajikistan trades in rubles and somoni with Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Abkhazia and other countries.
