The Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan reported on the growth of electricity production in the country in the first half of the year

In January-June 2023, more than 10.7 billion kWh of electricity was generated in Tajikistan.

This was reported in the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic.

It is noted that the figure is almost 210 million kW / h, or 3%, more compared to the same period last year.

At the same time, the production of thermal energy in Tajikistan decreased by 18% over six months and amounted to 550 thousand Gcal/h.

"The reason for the decline in thermal energy generation is the relatively early shutdown of energy centers in 2023," the report says.

The Ministry of Energy stressed that the citizens of Tajikistan have become more responsible in paying for electricity.

So, in the first half of the year, more than 2.25 billion somoni were collected, which is 434 million somoni, or 23.8%, more than in the reporting period of 2022.

According to the agency, they received 825 million somoni from the population - 86.6% of all energy profits in Tajikistan. It is noted that this is 153 million somoni, or 22%, more than for the same period last year.
