Rogun HPP will make a great contribution to the sustainable development of the country through the efficient use of natural resources, including green energy
Saudi Arabia invested about 50% of the funds for the entire construction of the Rogun hydroelectric power station.
This was stated by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom to Tajikistan, Walid ibn Abdurrahman Ar-Reshaidon.
It is noted that the Saudi Development Fund is providing a new preferential loan in the amount of $100 million for this facility.
The diplomat emphasized that the Rogun hydroelectric power station will make a great contribution to the sustainable development of the country through the efficient use of natural resources, including green energy.
“The funds allocated for the construction of the Rogun hydroelectric power station amount to 50% of the total investments provided by the Saudi Fund since the beginning of its activities in Tajikistan in 2002,” stated the Kingdom’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the republic.
Earlier, the chambers of commerce and industry of Qatar and Tajikistan signed an agreement to establish a Joint Business Council (JBC).

Thus, during negotiations between the First Deputy Chairman of the Qatar Chamber, Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, and the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tajikistan, Jamshed Jumahonzoda, issues of the investment climate and the creation of joint projects were discussed.
The Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tajikistan noted that Tajik companies are interested in opening markets for their own products in Qatar.
