The defense departments of Tajikistan and Turkey signed an agreement on defense cooperation and a protocol for the implementation of financial assistance, Anadolu Agency reports.

The document was signed by Turkish National Defense Minister Yashar Güler and Tajik Defense Minister Sherali Mirzo.

The signing of this agreement took place on the sidelines of the 16th International Defense Industry Exhibition - DEF 2023, which takes place in Turkey from July 25 to 28.

According to this agreement, Tajikistan and Turkey pledged to cooperate in the field of defense issues and exchange experience in the field of border protection and countering terrorism.

This move is designed to strengthen security and stability in the Central Asian region and confirms the mutual interest of the two countries in developing partnerships.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Tatarstan has not yet specified what the signed document includes.
