Tajikistan and China will create the first joint venture for the production of electric vehicles.

This was announced in the press service of the Upper House of the Parliament of the Republic.

It is noted that the corresponding agreement was signed in Beijing during the official visit of Chairman of the Parliament of Tajikistan Rustam Emomali to China.

Thus, the Tajik "Avesto Group" and the Chinese "Jinchuan" signed a document for 25 million dollars.

"We are talking about the organization, creation and management of a joint venture for the production of electric vehicles in Tajikistan with an annual capacity of 1.5 thousand vehicles per year," the source stressed.

Earlier, the Minister of Industry and New Technologies of Tajikistan, Sherali Kabir, said that for the first time it is planned to organize the production of electric vehicles in the republic, and relevant negotiations are underway with companies from China and South Korea.

According to him, about 90% of the raw materials needed for such production, in particular aluminum, lithium, nickel, silver, are available in the country, and this is "a decisive argument in favor of starting the project."

Recall that Chairman of the Parliament of Tajikistan Rustam Emomali is in Beijing at the invitation of the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China Zhao Leji, with whom he had previously met.
