Following the results of the World Sambo Championship in Armenia, the treasury of the Tajikistan national team was replenished with high awards - the athletes won 3 bronze medals
At the World Championships, which took place in Yerevan, the Tajikistan team won 3 awards.
This was reported by the Republic Judo Federation.
The first award was won by Akmaliddin Karimov in the weight category up to 58 kg. He won bronze on the starting day of the tournament.
On the second day, 25-year-old Bobokhon Mirzozoda received a second bronze medal in the weight up to 58 kg in combat sambo.
On the final day of the World Championship, Khudoyor Rajabzoda won the third bronze in the weight category up to 71 kg.
Let us remind you that from November 10 to 12, the World Sambo Championship was held in Yerevan; athletes from 65 countries applied to participate in the tournament of the year.
9 Tajik sambo wrestlers are taking part in the competition. In total, athletes from 65 countries came to Armenia for the World Championships.
In addition to medals, the winners and runners-up were also awarded cash prizes - 4 thousand dollars for first place, 3 thousand dollars for second place, 2 thousand dollars for third place.
Tajikistani won bronze at the World Sambo Championship
During the years of independence from Tajikistan, three recognized Tajik wrestlers won the title of world champion in sambo: Behruz Khojazoda (2017), Khushkadam Khusravov (2018) and Akmaliddin Karimov (2021).
