The Tajik wrestler won the title and gold medal in the men's competition in the weight category up to 64 kilograms among masters over 65 years of age.

Competitions among masters were held in the Kazakh city of Uralsk.

Veteran wrestler Olimkhan Alikhonov won a gold medal and the world title. He competed in the weight category up to 64 kilograms.

It is noted that the competition was held with the participation of 340 athletes aged 35 years and older.

Men and women competed at the sports sambo tournament; participants were grouped by age.

Alikhonov became the winner of the men's competition among masters over 65 years old.

In the final round, he entered the arena together with Vladimir Kizilbosh from the FIAS (International Sambo Federation) team and won a gold medal, his opponent received silver.

Two Kazakh wrestlers - Serikboy Kabakboev and Almaz Musobekov - took bronze medals in the same weight.

Tajik athletes won 9 medals at competitions in Uzbekistan

In total, 6 athletes represented Tajikistan in men's sambo competitions at these international competitions: Olimkhon Alikhonov, Izzatullo Yunusov, Sattor Saifiddinov, Zamonjon Umarov, Muhammadsharif Zikrulloev and Saimurod Odinaev.

In addition, the Tajik referee Mahmud Abdulloev worked as a referee at this tournament.
