Representatives of the Tajik Railway published statistics on the export and import of goods for the period from January to July 2023
Export figures for the Tajik railway have declined.
This was announced by representatives of the carrier company following the results of six months of 2023.
It is noted that the volume of transportation of agricultural products for six months amounted to about 380 thousand tons. This figure is 170 thousand tons less than for the same period in 2022.
The export of cement also decreased by 79 thousand tons, ores and non-ferrous metals by 57 thousand tons, aluminum by 6 thousand tons, cotton by 15 thousand tons.
However, the import figures for the Tajik railway have increased.
Among the most demanded items were: agricultural products - 2.5 million tons, diesel - 67 thousand tons, gasoline - 65 thousand tons, and liquefied gas - 64 thousand tons.
"The share of the Tajik railway in international cargo transportation is 70%," the company's representatives shared.
In addition, in order to support domestic producers in the direction of transportation, including the export of agricultural products, TZD offers benefits from 30% to 80%.

Earlier, the Eurasian Development Bank announced an increase in investment in the economy of Tajikistan.
The EDB representative assured that the bank is ready to increase the volume of cash injections up to 3% of the total investment portfolio.
To date, the EDB and its structures in Tajikistan have implemented 13 investment projects totaling $266.4 million.
