Tajik banks issued more than 9 billion somoni loans in six months

The volume of loans issued amounted to about 9.3 billion somoni, which is almost one and a half times more than the figure for the same period of the previous year

The banking system of Tajikistan issued loans in the amount of more than 9 billion somoni for the period from January to June 2023.

This was announced by the Assistant to the President of the Republic for Economic Affairs Nematullo Hikmatullozoda during a meeting - summarizing the work of Tajik banks for the first half of 2023.

In particular, the volume of loans issued amounted to about 9.3 billion somoni, which is 2.7 billion somoni or almost one and a half times more than the same period of the previous year.

In this regard, Hikmatullozoda noted that the implementation of the initiative of President Emomali Rahmon to increase the loan offer to citizens requires additional measures.

Among them, he named an increase in the number of banking enterprises, a reduction in interest rates and the introduction of new electronic services.
